The Opportunity
In 2021, KPMG UK launched the Big Walks as a new, nationwide employee engagement initiative — designed to reconnect colleagues after the pandemic, promote wellbeing, and raise funds for their annual charity partner, which changes every few years. Past and current partners have included NSPCC, Marie Curie and FareShare.
KPMG asked Massive to help bring the vision to life — delivering a series of inclusive, accessible challenge events that would grow each year in scale, impact and participation.
The Work
We’ve worked with KPMG on the Big Walks since the series launched in 2021 and continue to support them as the events expand.
Each year, we plan and deliver a series of regional charity walks — with events taking place across Scotland, the North, Midlands, London East, London West and the South. Each location includes a mix of 10km and 20km routes, along with an optional 1–2km accessible route to encourage participation from employees of all fitness levels and abilities.
Our work includes:
-
National site sourcing and route design
-
Planning, mapping, permissions and stakeholder engagement
-
On-site delivery, build and de-rig
-
Branded event villages, gantries and scrim
-
Coordination of staffing, logistics and MCs
-
Support for internal engagement and charity messaging
In 2025, we also supported the delivery of KPMG’s corporate family day at the London event in Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park — building on the Big Walk model to create a more inclusive, family-friendly experience with added activities and entertainment.
