The Opportunity
We were approached by Alzheimer’s Research UK to help design and deliver a pilot series of accessible 5km walking events across the UK. The goal was to bring together those affected by dementia and create a new, scalable fundraising experience that could grow year on year.
The charity needed a partner who could work within a defined pilot budget while maximising the event’s fundraising potential and supporter experience — ensuring a smooth rollout and a solid foundation for future growth.
The Work
We delivered three pilot Walk For A Cure events in 2023, located in London, Harrogate and Edinburgh. Following their success, the series expanded in 2024 to six locations including Cardiff and other major UK cities.
Our work included:
-
Venue sourcing and route planning tailored to audience needs
-
Creation of accessible, clearly marked 5km walking routes
-
Installation of branded infrastructure and Event Village
-
Stakeholder liaison and charity partner integration
-
On-site project management and live delivery
-
Coordination of volunteers and supporter services
From pre-event planning through to on-the-day experience, we helped Alzheimer’s Research UK turn a brand-new idea into a well-attended, nationally recognised walking series — now on track to become their flagship fundraising event
